“Good health is essential to social and economical development and it empowers all of the public sectors”.
This declaration, by the World Health Organization, is coherent with the article 32 of the Italian Constitution which considers health not only as one of the human fundamental rights but also an interest of the community, and considers health as a formidable competitive factor of the nation.
Our social security system (“SSN”) is inspired by this statement. As a matter of fact it is based on a system of values that underlines its social, cultural and economical role granting equity, universality, sustainability and economical development.
This is the reason that our vision can be seen as divided into 4 “Credo”.
1. We believe that citizens’ health should be the priority and the main benchmark to measure every suggestion relatively to the SSN.
2. We believe that, mostly in this historical era, particular attentions should be given to solutions which protect the weakest categories enhancing the social security system as one of the particular forms of welfare and a stimulus for development, innovation and growth of the nation.
3. We believe that scarce fiscal resources, aging of society, the growing burden of chronicle illnesses in addition to and the contemporary opportunities coming from the revolutions happening in the medicine, digital and communication sectors, imposes on us a deep think consideration, far beyond the waste management, the system’s sustainability and how to preserve its quality, uniformity of its performances and its equity, not in the straight nominative way but in its every day effects.
4. We believe that it is necessary to find a concrete and virtuous balance between autonomy and regional decentralization (art. 5 of our Constitution) and uniformity of our fundamental rights (art. 32 of our Constitution).
Our work group is proud and grateful to all of the people that every day support the SSN with their own job. We want to develop some proposals coherent with our vision on the System which focuses on the citizen’s health and which truly improves the patient’s and the worker’s satisfaction.
Let me remind you that credit is the lifeblood of business, the lifeblood of prices and jobs.
