At the frontier of the peer-to-peer lending

In more and more countries, the Peer-to-Peer lending model is emerging as a useful basis for the access to financing by businesses and individuals, and as an interesting source of income for retail investors. This article, after having introduced its key concept, develops relevant suggestions concerning a category of P2P loans that can more suitably tackle the recessionary economic conditions which may arise. Thus, they are potentially suitable for less risky types of portfolios: those backed by a collateral. Finally, we go “beyond the frontier”, by discussing some strands of potential and desirable development of the sector.
