Dopo le elezioni del Parlamento Europeo, tenutesi tra il 23 ed il 26 maggio, l’Unione Europea ha avviato il processo di nomina dei leader delle sue principali istituzioni. Il Regno Unito ha eletto il nuovo capo di governo, che porterà avanti i negoziati per la Brexit.
